E. Norriton, Pa., July 31, 2008 - The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation announces its donation of $508,131 to The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. The donation marks the fourth installment of the Foundations $2 million, six-year pledge, which was made to the Hospital in November of 2004. It has given more than $1.5 million of the pledge to the Hospital thus far.
Our pledge schedule includes an annual donation of $333,333 to Childrens Hospital, said Kevin Mazzucola, executive director of the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation and Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia. Due to the great success of the 2008 Philadelphia Auto Show and Black Tie Tailgate Preview Gala, we have proudly been able to accelerate this schedule and significantly increase this years pledge contribution to $508,131.
The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia has been supporting The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia since 1986. Since then, it has contributed more than $3.8 million to the Hospital. This years donation involves ticket proceeds from the Philadelphia Auto Shows Black Tie Tailgate Preview Gala, which took place on February 1st at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. In addition, the Philadelphia Auto Show contributes one dollar for every ticket sold to The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia through the Foundation.
We are extremely fortunate to have one of the countrys best medical facilities for children right in our backyard, said Jay Haenn, president of the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation and Lansdale Chrysler Jeep. And, as a Foundation that possesses that mission of enhancing and enriching the lives of children in the communities where our dealer members work and live, our continued support for Childrens Hospital is an absolute must, as well as honor.
