Philadelphia Auto Show Black Tie Tailgate Announces 2012 Event Beneficiary

East Norriton, Pa., September 9, 2011 – The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Philadelphia Auto Show, is proud to announce that the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has been named the beneficiary of its 2012 Black Tie Tailgate.

Open to the public and a premiere event on the city’s social calendar, the Black Tie Tailgate is a charitable gala that annually kicks off the Philadelphia Auto Show with an evening of dining and dancing at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The 2012 event will take place on Friday, January 27, from 7:00p.m. to 11:30p.m. Guests will enjoy a sneak peek of the display floor of the 2012 Philadelphia Auto Show while listening to the sounds of one of the region’s best dance bands. The menu will be designed by Stephen STARR Events, which brings its cuisine, service and experience of the wildly successful restaurants to the world of catering and special events.

Tickets to the 2012 Black Tie Tailgate will be available for purchase at www.phillyautoshow.com later this fall. Event proceeds will benefit the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. With over 28,000 patient visits every year, the division provides multi-disciplinary, family-centered care for a wide range of conditions. Ranked among the top three pediatric GI departments in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, the Division’s areas of expertise include: inflammatory bowel disease, general diagnostic gastroenterology, failure to thrive, feeding and swallowing, lipid heart, liver disease and liver transplantation, nutrition services, pancreatic disease, gastroparesis and motility. The Lustgarten Center for GI Motility was recently established at Children’s Hospital to provide world-class diagnostic resources in a new GI Motility Laboratory, offering a full spectrum of services unavailable at most children’s hospitals.

The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia, owners and producers of the Philadelphia Auto Show, in conjunction with its Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation has supported the extraordinary work of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia since 1986 via proceeds from its annual Black Tie Tailgate and other philanthropic activities. Cumulative giving to the Hospital exceeds $4.5 million and continues today.
