Widely known as the nations premier pediatric care facility, supporting The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia was a logical choice for the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP). The relationship with the Hospital began in 1986 with a contribution of $50,000 from the ADAGP. The Association continued to make annual contributions to the Hospital through its Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation which was incorporated in 2003. A quarter of a century later, total giving to the Hospital exceeds $4.5 million.
In 2010, the Foundation fulfilled a six-year, $2 million pledge to the Hospital. Through our partnership, we are proud of the following accomplishments:
• Construction and endowment for upkeep of the Patient Welcome Center
• Support of Friends of Trisomy 21 and its Buddy Walk
• Donation of a Chevrolet Suburban to the Duct Busters traveling cardiothoracic surgery team
• Donation of a Chrysler Town & Country van to The Center for Injury Research and Prevention
• Support of the Partners in Palliative Care program
• Donation of a Pontiac G5, along with a driving simulator for teenage drivers to The Center for Injury Research and Prevention
• Donation of three Chevrolet vans to the Home Health Care program
• Support of the Spina Bifida program in Diagnostic Center
• Support of the Daisy Day Luncheon and Carousel Ball fundraisers
• Donation of a Ford Explorer and a Ford Flex to the Security Department
• Donation of a Mazda Tribute to the Pediatric Advanced Care Team
• Donation of a Ford van to the Reach Out and Read program
This year, we celebrated 25 years of giving to The Children's Hospital. This momentous occasion was marked with a special presentation to Hospital representatives at the 2011 Black Tie Tailgate. All of the proceeds of the gala were donated to the Center for Autism Research at the Hospital. The donation topped $259,000! These funds will be used to continue the Center's outstanding work to find the causes of and most effective treatments for autism.
