Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Widely known as the nation’s premier pediatric care facility, supporting Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was a logical choice for the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP). The relationship with the Hospital began in 1986 with a contribution of $50,000 from the ADAGP. The Association continues to make annual contributions to the Hospital through its Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation which was incorporated in 2003. Three decades later, total giving to the Hospital is nearly $7 million.
Through our long partnership with the Hospital we have supported about a dozen of its programs and/or departments with financial contributions or the gift of a new vehicle. Our largest donation was used for the construction of the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Welcome Center in the busiest corridor of the Wood Building. This center serves as an information hub for visitors, patients and their families.
In 2011, our Board of Trustees decided that all proceeds of the Foundation’s annual fundraiser, Black Tie Tailgate, would be given to a carefully selected department within the Hospital. That year, $259,000 in proceeds from the event was donated to the Hospital’s Center for Autism Research. More recently, the annual proceeds have topped $590,000. The 2017 event is scheduled for Friday, January 27.
