Greater Philadelphia Automotive Technology Competition
Created in 1994, the purpose of the competition is to build awareness for the important role of auto technicians in today’s workforce and to spotlight their specialized skills and professionalism. The first part of the competition involves a 160-question written exam. Of the 90 students who take the exam, the twenty-four individuals who receive the highest marks advance to the hands-on portion of the competition.
Any dealers, manufacturers or auto industry supporters interested in making a contribution to the 2009 event may contact Mary Lynn Alvarino in the Foundation’s office. The most needed items are tools and prizes that are useful for the students to continue their automotive education after high school.
